March 2, 2012 - Monday night I missed our station’s regular training night because I was busy trying to recapture my youth at the Hedley concert in Barrie. Fortunately, Station 2 was doing RIT training Tuesday night and I was able to catch a ride up to Mactier with two other firefighters from my hall.

Feb. 27, 2012 - My 12-year-old daughter’s hockey team is done for the season so they jumped at the chance to play in an exhibition game on the weekend. There are 13 kids on her team. Seven showed up – eight if you include the goalie. As you hockey fans out there know, that left just two on the bench. It wasn’t looking good for the Wildcats.

Feb. 23, 2012 - Family Day morning my family and I were enjoying breakfast out at a local restaurant when the pager went off. I held the pager up to my ear so I could hear what the call was, and then set it down on the table and turned the volume down so only I could hear it.
