Winnipeg - I have been trying to research and plan just what to do when
I’m in NYC. Ground Zero is a must, with as many visits to fire houses as
I can get in to meet our brothers and hear their stories, if they will

Here in southwestern Ontario we get storms unlike those in say, Atlantic
Canada – short, usually with driving rain, wind, hail and, at this time
of year, tornados. We’re fairly used to this weather phenomenon – big,
dark clouds, a massive buildup of humidity, a drop in temperature and
thunder like you’ve never heard, some of which rattled the windows in
our house yesterday.

Experimental coatings show promise of flame resistance |

Aug. 19, 2011 – Researchers from the National Institute of Standards and
Technology and Texas A&M University have devised nanofiber-filled
coatings that have outperformed conventional flame retardants used in
the polyurethane foam of upholstered furniture
and mattresses. The Polymer journal reported test results, which
suggested that coating polyurethane foam with this experimental coating
seems to create a fire-resistant shield on the foam. ScienceDaily
reports.
