Rope saves firefighter's life

There has been lots of talk about personal safety systems for firefighters. A 51-year-old firefighter in downtown Brooklyn escaped from a burning building on Jan. 1 using the new rope mechanism.

Proponents are calling for the introduction of these systems in Canada but others say the systems aren’t up to snuff yet and need to be refined before use becomes widespread. Read the New York Post story here and let us know what you think.
