Highway 400 pile up
Written by Laura King
Jan. 21, 2008
Fire crews from Bradford, Ont., a small community near Highway 400 that runs between Toronto and Barrie (the main route for city folks to get to ski country in the winter and cottage country in the summer) had their hands full yesterday with a series of crashes caused by whiteouts and slippery conditions.

This particular episode was so bad it made the front page of the Globe and Mail.

I’ve been on Highway 400 in these kinds of conditions and it’s not pretty.

It must be incredibly frustrating for first responders (there were crews from other stations too), knowing how treacherous this highway can be, yet seeing nothing done to change the road conditions.
