No rescues on a stretch of Trans-Canada

Feb. 4, 2016, Ottawa - There’s a 30-kilometre stretch on Highway 17’s 800-kilometre run between Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie where drivers had better be extra careful. A heavy-extrication agreement between the tiny Township of Head, Clara and Maria – about 2.5 hours west of Ottawa and with no firefighters of its own – and neighbouring Laurentian Hills and Deep River ended last fall.
