Two dead, one injured in duplex fire
Feb. 16, 2016, Montreal - Montreal police are still investigating the cause of a fatal fire that broke out Sunday morning in a duplex in the northeast of Montreal, but said Monday night there was speculation it was linked to an electrical issue.

They could not confirm reports the fire detectors in the home were not working
A woman and a young girl have died, and a 70-year-old man was on life support Monday.
According to Louise Desrosiers, section head of the city’s Fire Department, a 911 call was received at 8:14 a.m. from a resident of 49th St. to signal the presence of smoke at the top of a duplex located across the street, near Ovila-Légaré St. in the Villeray–St-Michel–Parc Extension borough.
A family of four living on the ground floor was relocated by the Red Cross.
