Ambulance stolen from driveway while EMS respond to call

April 15, 2013, Marystown, N.L. – The RCMP in Newfoundland are investigating after an ambulance was stolen while paramedics were tending to a patient in distress.

The Mounties say an ambulance was stolen Sunday morning from a driveway of a home in Marystown.

They issued a statement saying paramedics were inside the home when the ambulance was stolen.

A second ambulance was called to the scene that took the patient to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre.

Investigators say the stolen ambulance was found kilometres away from the home.

The RCMP could not be reached for further comment.
