June 6, 2013, Parleeville, N.B. – RCMP in southern New Brunswick are investigating a possible arson following a house fire that injured two men.
Police say five people were inside the two-storey home located in the community of Parleeville, northeast of Saint John, when the fire broke out around 1 a.m. today.
Three women escaped unharmed but a 32-year-old man was taken to a Saint John hospital with serious injuries after he jumped from a second-floor bedroom window.
The Mounties say the fire originated in the bedroom the man jumped from.
They say another man was taken to hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation.
The provincial fire marshal is also investigating.
