RCMP Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh says the fire at Poley Mountain was brought under control more than three hours after it broke out around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Rogers-Marsh says several fire departments from around the Sussex area battled the blaze.
The ski hill is about 10 kilometres outside of Sussex.
The hill has 30 trails and five lifts and was planning to open Dec. 19 for the season.
