Bouctouche fire kills two people

Spet. 8, 2015, Bouctouche, N.B. - The RCMP in eastern New Brunswick say they have located the bodies of a man and woman who died in a house fire Monday in Bouctouche.

The local fire department was called to the blaze on Denis Street at about 1:40 a.m.

An RCMP spokesman says the homeowners, a man and a woman, managed to escape the burning home, but two other people who were guests at the residence were unable to get out.

Sgt. Patrick Tardif says foul play is not suspected in the case.

Names of the victims have not been released.

Fire officials said they were initially unable to fully search the home because of intense smoke and heat.
