Dec. 19, 2019, Brampton, Ont. —Brampton fire department donated 189 sets of bunker gear to Firefighters Without Borders.

Firefighters Without Borders is a non-profit organization that provides equipment, training and support to fire service agencies around the world.

Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes said that his department had bunker gear that was in good condition but no longer met their requirements for use.

“We thought that other departments with less resources or funding could find good use for it,” he said.

Boyes also encourages other fire departments to donate used items to Firefighters Without Borders.

“I encourage all other fire chiefs to have a look and find a way to help because there are so many departments that don’t have as many resources and even small amounts can help,” he said.

He said he’s happy to share any information about the process to anyone interested in donating.
