Calagry issues fire ban due to air quality
Aug. 26, 2015, Calgary - The Calgary Fire Department has issued a fire ban as smoke from fires in the Pacific Northwest continues to blow into Alberta, leading to poor air quality that presents a “high” health risk. The city’s air quality Tuesday was worse than some of the world’s most polluted cities, according to Mandeep Dhaliwal, air quality program manager for the Calgary Region Airshed Zone.
