July 8, 2024, Osoyoos, B.C. — Tumbleweed Spirits Distillery has partnered with the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF) to raise money for the families of fallen firefighters.

The distillery has released a limited-edition whisky called Unforgettable and will donate $20 from every purchase to the foundation.

“The ultimate goal here is to take a cheque to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial in September for $10,000,” said Jamie Crain, head of brand strategy for Tumbleweed Distilling, in an interview with Fire Fighting in Canda.

Tumbleweed was introduced to CFFF through the foundation’s former director Ret. Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Jasper and partnered with the organization to raise awareness and funds for firefighters and their families.

“We got to talking around the fires that the Okanagan Valley sees almost on an annual basis and the destruction that they leave, and the cost and toll they take on firefighters and firefighters families,” Crain said. “This was an idea that came together to bring awareness to fallen firefighters… once we started talking it was a no brainer.”

The brand hopes to make this an annual campaign, releasing a new limited-edition whisky with each installment and continuing to give back to the fire fighting community.

“We’re honoured to be supported by these brave men and women in our communities, and anything we can do to support these families who have lost firefighters we want to do,” Crain said.
