Cape Breton house fire leaves two homeless

March 30, 2010, Sydney, N.S. - Two people are homeless after fire gutted a home in Cape Breton early today.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. in the Whitney Pier district of Sydney.

A woman living in the main section of the two-storey home is staying with family members for now.

Red Cross volunteers helped a male tenant find emergency lodging, food and personal care items.

According to the Red Cross, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
