City budget includes new counselling supports for firefighters, paramedics amid pandemic

Dec. 4, 2020, Winnipeg – The city has announced, as part of its 2021 budget, counselling support for paramedics and firefighters in response to stress caused by the pandemic. United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg (UFFW) president Alex Forrest told the Winnipeg Sun on Thursday the money will help in a city where medical call volumes have reached 80,000 — more than Toronto.
