Crews tackle brush fire near Sheet Harbour

to the Halifax Chronicle Herald, Natural Resources Department spokeswoman Jennifer Gavin said no houses were thought to be at risk, and the fire isn’t considered too dangerous.


More than 2,500 hectares of woodland have been burned already in Nova Scotia this summer.
On July 13, firefighters tackled a major blaze in the Porters Lake-Lake Echo area east of Halifax. Two homes were destroyed and more than 5,000 people were evacuated.
