Death toll rises to 14 as search for victims continues

Jan. 14, 2014, L'Isle-Verte, Que. – Authorities say 14 people are now confirmed dead and that another 18 are missing after fire ripped through a seniors' residence in eastern Quebec.
Thursday's blaze destroyed the residence in L'Isle-Verte, about 240 kilometres northeast of Quebec City.
Provincial police gave the update at a news conference late this afternoon.
The last numbers given out by authorities on Sunday were 10 dead and 22 missing.
A spokesman for Stephen Harper confirmed earlier today the prime minister will attend a commemorative ceremony in L'Isle-Verte this coming Saturday.
