Eastway welcomes Gord Mills to sales team

April 23, 2013, Carleton Place, Ont. – Eastway Emergency Vehicles said Tuesday that Gord Mills has joined the company’s sales team.

Mills has 20 years of experience as a chief officer with the Rideau, Cumberland and City of Ottawa fire departments, where he had direct responsibilities in the design and acquisition of rural and urban emergency vehicles, Eastway said in a press release.

Previous to this, Mills held a management position at Eastway overseeing the manufacturing and repair of fire and tanker trucks.

“Gord's 20 years as a member of the OAFC, including 10 years on the board of directors, has provided him with opportunities to network and share knowledge with chief officers from across Ontario,” Eastway said.

“He considers many of the fire chiefs in Ontario as colleagues and friends. Gord is looking forward to the opportunity to strengthen his existing relationships and create new ones in this new role.”

Eastway (www.eastway911.com) was founded was 1968 in Ottawa; it makes custom fire trucks for the North American and export markets. The company also stocks an inventory of pre-owned fire trucks and provides mobile repairs and pump testing.
