Emergency services across Canada encourage public to download free location app what3words

What3Words continues to grow in the Canadian market. The company conducted a voluntary survey of 10 emergency control rooms across Canada.

70 per cent of Canadian emergency services control rooms surveyed noted they see a spike in calls over holidays and long weekends.

The survey found that 100 per cent of those surveyed reported that using what3words cut response times, with 70 per cent reporting that what3words saved them at least on minute per call. 40 per cent reported it saved them five or more minutes per call, and 20 per cent reported that, on average, what3words saved their team more than 10 minutes per call.

50 per cent of users surveyed commented that they regularly receive calls from hard to describe locations, like rural areas or hiking trails – what3words helps callers to describe their location using a curated address, and helps first responders to arrive on scene faster.
