firefighterloftAug. 21, 2008, Woodbridge, VA – Exhausted firefighters may have to stay on call throughout the night, but at least they will be resting comfortably. Hardwood Artisans, a local furniture manufacturer and retailer, announced a new line of beds for the fire and rescue community at the Firehouse Expo 2008.

The furniture Hardwood Artisans develops is specifically designed to handle the wear-and-tear of a firehouse, while offering firefighters a way to relax comfortably during downtime. Offered in all standard bed sizes with a primary focus on twin extra-long, the Murphy beds will be built out of ash, a solid hardwood. The beds will prove to be a particularly useful space-saving measure.
“Many fire and rescue stations are often very crowded, and space is at a premium," said Hardwood Artisans General Manager, Greg Gloor. “Our bunk and Murphy beds will allow fire and rescue personnel to make the most of limited space and also invest in a quality product designed with their needs in mind.”

“The bunk bed will be able to sleep two people in the floor space typically taken up by just one regular bed, and the Murphy bed easily folds-up into the wall to open up even more floor space,” Gloor added.

The company has been making high-quality furniture for over 30 years, building custom hardwood furniture for hospitals, churches and nonprofits. However, this particular product is the first intended specifically for commercial installations.
