Ex-Kelowna chief fights back
Former Kelowna Fire Chief Rene Blanleil says he’s had enough and speaks to the people of Kelowna, B.C., in a YouTube video in which he disputes claims by local media of misappropriation of funds. Blanleil suggests a lawsuit against local media is imminent. “There is simply nothing to these allegations,” he says.

Sept. 15, 2010, Kelowna, B.C. – Former Kelowna Fire Chief Rene Blanleil
says he’s had enough and speaks to the people of Kelowna, B.C., in a
YouTube video in which he disputes claims by local media of
misappropriation of funds.

“I am doing what I must to do protect my reputation,” Blanliel says he
says in the three-minute video. “I have served the city of Kelowna with
honor and integrity.” Blanleil says he has spoken to lawyers and
suggests that a lawsuit against local media is imminent. “There is
