Family loses home and puppies in fire

Dec. 22, 2010, Brantford, Ont. – A family in Brantford, Ont., has lost their home and their puppies in a fire.

Brant County firefighters were on the scene for more than 12 hours as the blaze roared through a farmhouse overnight.

Their efforts were hampered because there was no water system in the area so more than 190,000 litres had to be brought in.

The family escaped the fire but a number of puppies they were raising died.

Damage is estimated at $350,000.
