Nov. 29, 2011, Trepassey, N.L. – Officials say fire has levelled the town hall in Trepassey in southeastern Newfoundland.

The only person inside the building at the time – the town clerk – managed to escape unharmed and call firefighters.

Former mayor Rita Pennell says the fire quickly spread through the wooden building.

The fire broke out just after 8 a.m. today.
