Authorities say the St. Elias the Prophet parish church caught fire just before 7 a.m. Saturday in Brampton, with photos from the scene showing the wooden structure engulfed.
Fire crews extinguished the two-alarm blaze, which left only a skeleton of the Orthodox church behind.
The church was built in 1995 and constructed from Douglas Fir and Western red cedar following an architectural style derived from western Ukraine.
Peel Region police say there are no reports of injuries.
Police say the cause of the fire will be investigated, and they will be involved if it's determined to be criminal.
