Ontario: Cancer prevention checklist released for public consultation

Nov. 8, 2019, Ajax, Ont. – A Cancer Prevention Checklist for the fire service, developed by the Section 21 Committee with the assistance of the Ministry of Labour facilitator, is out for public consultation.
The checklist is designed to be a self-evaluation tool for fire departments, and considers such procedures as field decontamination, handling and transporting contaminated equipment, in-station decon, PPE, bunker gear washing and drying, post-fire shower and hygiene procedures and administrative support.
This Cancer Prevention Checklist can be found on the OAFC webpage. Comments must be submitted by Dec. 11.
