Fire suppression system comes to Canada

Nov. 9, 2010 - Sea-Image Corporation of Victoria, B.C., has acquired the exclusive Canadian distribution rights to the USCG-approved Fire Foam Afloat fire suppression system from Ballistic Boats Florida. Weighing only 22 pounds, Fire Foam Afloat is a portable system powered by a 12-volt battery that provides up to one hour of U.S. Forest Service-approved foam per cartridge at five gallons per minute. Three cartridges are included per kit. The rapidly deployed and easy to use system is ideal for use on docks, marinas and boats in either fresh or salt water. The non-toxic, water soluble, and biodegradable foam can be used on fiberglass, wood, fabrics, or other types of combustible materials for both suppressing and minimizing the spread of the fire. When reversed, the Fire Foam Afloat system can pump out a flooded bilge at more than five gallons per minute, or used for high-pressure wash-down at 45 pounds per square inch.
