Stephen Eric Tremblett was released yesterday after conditions were set to keep the 49-year-old Sydney Mines man in his home at certain times while he awaits his next court appearance.

He was charged with 13 counts of arson in connection with a string of fires between May and August of this year in the Florence, Little Bras d’Or and Millville areas.

All but two of the fires involved abandoned structures.

Another member of the same department β€” 24-year-old James Clayton MacDonald β€” has also been charged in connection with the fires.
