The website and associated book, The Complete Guide to Becoming a Firefighter, serve the interest of men and women who are looking to start a career in fire fighting. Content includes recruitment tips, schools and programs, recruitment forums and exhibits, resume reviews, job postings, fitness, and nutrition.
Annex Business Media adds becomingafirefighter.com and the book to its existing print and digital firefighting properties, including Fire Fighting in Canada, Canadian Firefighter and EMS Quarterly and firehall.com.

“This is a great fit for us, as we now reach the entire firefighting community from recruit to fire chief,” says Martin McAnulty, group publisher/sales director, Annex Business Media. “We will be adding a hands-on training component where individuals who are considering a career in fire fighting can live the life of a firefighter for the day.”

Pearn, who founded the site, expects to remain part of the team going forward.

“I had taken becomingafirefighter.com as far as I could on my own, and it was time to call a friend,” Pearn says “Joining forces with Canada's one and only firehall.com was a no brainer. Recruits can expect some exciting changes on the way – becomingafirefighter.com now has the legs I've always hoped it would have. I will continue to manage this site for Annex and will remain a leading authority and strategist on how to become a firefighter.”
