Firefighters dig through snow to recover body

Feb. 19, 2015, Moncton, N.B. - The fire chief of Moncton, N.B., says a body has been recovered from deep snow in the yard of a trailer park.

Eric Arsenault says investigators were called Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. after a family member found the person in the snow towards the back of a home.

Arsenault says he wasn't aware of the victim's gender or age.

He says firefighters waded through waist-deep snow to reach the body, which he said had been there for "some time," though he couldn't specify how long.

Arsenault says firefighters were forced to dig a path about one metre wide and seven metres long in order for a coroner and RCMP to reach the victim.
