Firefighters quit over personnel issues

March 28, 2008, Bracebridge, Ont. - More than half a dozen firefighters have resigned from their duties in Windermere after disagreements over safety and problems with communications went un­resolved last Wednesday evening. The Bracebridge Examiner reports that at last count, at least seven volunteer firefighters from Station 7 in Windermere quit the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department last week, leaving a large hole in the community’s emergency response.
