Firefighters Rea and Walter remembered in Listowel

March 17, 2012, Listowel, Ont. - It’s been exactly a year since fire tore through a downtown Listowel dollar store and took the lives of North Perth volunteer firefighters Ken Rea and Ray Walter. Today, the streets of Listowel will be awash with green as revellers take in the big St. Patrick’s Day parade, a highlight of the two-week-long Paddyfest celebration. They’ll salute their firefighters as they march past, pausing for a moment at the site of the Dollar Stop blaze. The Kitchener Waterloo-Record reports.
