Firefighters rescue woman from burning home

Jan. 30, 2012, Surrey, B.C. – Firefighters in Surrey had to race into a burning home last night to reach a woman trapped in a bedroom on an upper floor.

A man had managed to escape the flames and frantically alerted crews to the situation as they arrived at the large home (in the 105-hundred block of Arbutus Wynd) in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood.

Smoke had already filled the house and the woman needed emergency treatment as she was rushed to hospital after being pulled out of the bedroom.

A cause of the fire is not known.
