Firefighters shouldn’t work alone: union

Feb. 5, 2015, Wasaga Beach, Ont. - The municipality is taking a big risk having one firefighter be the first responder to an emergency, says a top union official. Fred LeBlanc, the 13th District vice-president for the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), which represents the Wasaga Beach Professional Firefighters Association, says his union supports Wasaga Beach Fire Chief Mike McWilliam's budget request to add two firefighters to the full-time complement of the town's fire department.
