Close perimeter viewing and identification are the main uses of these instruments. They attach themselves to military, tactical and EMS-type helmets, through the bolts, or via industrial Velcro. Both editions introduce a breakaway design that minimizes damage from impact, permitting easy removal for hand-held use when necessary. On the helmet, the lights can be operated to revolve 360 degrees and open out for peripheral viewing. An easy-access switch can be activated with thick gloves.

The TX-1  includes three narrow beam  White LEDs in an on-off configuration.

The TX-0 contains one three LEDS in the front: a triple-white , a red and a blue and one Infrared LED on the rear that can also be turned to face the front.
