Fundraiser to support and honour fallen firefighters

Apr. 23, 2018, Peace River, Alta. - Deputy Fire Chief Julien Bergeron from Alberta's Northern Sunrise County Protective Services has organized a fundraiser to raise awareness for firefighter health, fitness and funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF).

Julien plans on running/jogging from Grande Prairie to Peace River this June and is selling legs of his journey to other fire departments. He has already met 85 per cent of his $10,000 goal and all of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation was created to honour and remember firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty and to support their families. The CFFF is a registered charity and operates by fundraising.

The run should take four to five days and Julien will have travelled 220 kilometres by the time he is finished.

Check out his Northern Trek for CFFF information page and how you or your department can get involved!
