Guelph, firefighters begin conciliation

June 18, 2015, Guelph, Ont. - Colin Hunter is not concerned that the City of Guelph and the Guelph Professional Firefighters' Association have filed for a Ministry of Labour conciliator to help with contract negotiations. And he's not even concerned if both parties begin the paperwork to file for arbitration. "It's always a complex thing," Hunter, president of the firefighters' association, said in a phone interview, adding this is the fourth set of negotiations he's been involved with.
