Boatworks blaze destroys multi-million dollar yacht

Aug. 13, 2008, Petite Riviere, N.S. - An American who circled the globe in a schooner named after his children’s favourite book lost the precious vessel Tuesday in the fire that levelled the Covey Island Boatworks. As the Halifax Chronicle Herald reports, over the past two years, Frank Blair sailed "from Lunenburg to Lunenburg around Cape Horn" in the Maggie B, his $3.5-million yacht. When the voyage ended in May, he took the schooner, built of wood and epoxy, back to the builders in Petite Riviere for a refit that was largely cosmetic. READ MORE
