Former firefighter pleads guilty to fraud charges

Mar. 14, 2017, Charlottetown - A long-serving P.E.I. volunteer firefighter pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars in funds earmarked for charity on Monday. Melvin Irwin Jay, 41, skimmed $810 in 2014, $1,127 in 2015 and $1,342 in 2016 from money raised by the Mount Stewart Fire Department for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
