Saskatchewan farm dealership destroyed

Tex Prete, the chief executive of Farm World in Kinistino, Sask., said he
received a call Thursday night that the giant warehouse-style building at the
dealership was on fire.

When he arrived on the scene, he said he watched several explosions caused by
gas-filled tanks used for welding.

"(There were) almost some mushroom-looking clouds up above the building," he
said.

The dealership, which also services farm equipment, is a total write-off,
said Prete.

"Cost-wise, we're estimating that there was probably $5 million of equipment,
some belonging to our customers and some of our own equipment," he said.

RCMP said fire crews arrived on the scene just before midnight Thursday.

The blaze appears to have started at the rear of the business and spread
rapidly before fire crews could get it under control.

Kelly Sharkey, the area fire chief, said the blaze was so intense, there was
little they could do.

No one was hurt and the cause is still under investigation.

Kinistino is about 110 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
