A heating system malfunction on Monday activated sprinklers at the Riverview Adult Residential Centre in Riverton, N.S., forcing an evacuation.
Officials were concerned the water would disrupt the centre's electrical system.
Riverview CEO Nancy Clarke says while there is damage to clean up, the disaster plan worked well.
With the help of the Red Cross about 100 residents were moved to fire halls in nearby Stellarton, Eureka and Plymouth.
