House fire claims woman, injures husband

Firefighters arrived at a home just after 1 a.m. Tuesday and found it engulfed in flames.

Neighbours have identified the couple as Pat and Tony Hagen, who they say have lived in the area for at least 30 years.

Fire officials say it appears the blaze started in a basement bedroom, though the exact cause hasn't yet been determined.

More than a dozen fire response vehicles attended the blaze and it took firefighters more than two hours to get the fire under control.

Damage is estimated at approximately $425,000.
