In conversation with the 2020 CAFC Career Fire Chief of the Year

Ken McMullen, manager and chief of the Red Deer Emergency Services, earned the 2020 Career Fire Chief of the Year at the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and the Fire Underwriters Survey of Canada Fire Rescue Canada’s 2020 Celebration of Excellence. Chief McMullen was recognized for his efforts in the field of fire education throughout Alberta and his work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health advocacy to ensure supports are available for responders. He joins podcast host Chief Tom DeSorcy for a conversation on his career trajectory, work in fire prevention and investigation and his strong focus on mental health within the fire service.
