NFPA Conference & Expo 2011

April 01, 2011
April 1, 2011 – More than 5,000 fire and life safety professionals are expected to attend the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)’s 2011 Conference & Expo, held from Sunday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 15, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

The annual conference and expo provides for an exchange of ideas between experts in the fire, security, electrical and life safety fields. It also furthers the NFPA’s mission to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards. Many of the meetings to take place will result in new safety and building codes to be voted on at the NFPA’s technical meeting on June 14 and 15.

More than 130 education sessions, as well as pre-conference seminars on June 10 and 11, and post-conference seminars on June 16, will be featured this year. Twelve conference tracks will help attendees gain experience in their particular field: building and life safety, codes and standards, detection and notification, electrical, emergency preparedness/business continuity, fire and emergency services, fire protection engineering, fire suppression, green, loss control/prevention, public education, and research.

Daniel Gilbert, Harvard psychology professor, and author of the New York Times bestseller Stumbling on Happiness, will be the keynote speaker this year. In addition to the many educational opportunities, more than 300 exhibitors from the fire and life safety industries will be present. For the latest information on the conference, to see the complete exhibitor list, or to register in advance, visit www.nfpa.org/conference.
