Investigators inspect debris found at the crash scene of a small plane that crashed just south of Buttonville airport in Markham midday Tuesday. Markham Fire was quick to contain the fire as a result of the crash which destroyed some air conditioner units atop the building and possibly caused a hole at the impact site. It's suspected that the plane had a mechanical failure immediately after take off from Buttonville and wasn't able to make the turn back to land and crashed onto the building only metres away from Woodbine Avenue, a busy thoroughfare during the business day.
