Kick-start your fire service career

Feb. 5, 2018, Toronto, Ont. - The 2018 Firefighter Career Expo is over 50 per cent sold out. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from and network with top chiefs, working firefighters and HR experts in fire service recruitment.

This year’s event is taking place on Feb. 10 at the Garry W. Morden Centre in Mississauga, Ont.

The action-packed agenda is divided into two streams: Group A (those considering a fire service career), and Group B (people seeking fire service employment). No matter where you’re at in the process, this event will ensure you understand Candidate Testing Services, how to nail your resume, portfolio and interview skills, hiring opportunities, and what it takes to be a great firefighter.

Speakers include experienced chiefs from large municipalities to first-class firefighters and captains. This year attendees will meet Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service Deputy Chief Deryn Rizzi and Mississauga’s own Chief Tim Beckett, who will tell you what they are looking for in new recruits. You can even test your knowledge in a mock interview with a top fire chief.

Meanwhile suppression service members like Brampton, Ont., Britney Holmberg and Jeff Clayton explain what a day in the life is like for career firefighters.

Whether you are interested in a career as a firefighter, or have training and are looking for employment, participating in Firefighter Career Expo will help you open doors in your fire service career. To register, visit https://www.cdnfirefighter.com/career-expo/event/registration
