Ladders Up donates $23,500 to the CFFF

May 6, 2016 - The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation has $23,500 more to give in scholarships to the children of fallen firefighters thanks to the annual charity event Ladders Up for the Foundation.

The fundraising event took place last weekend during the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs conference and trade show. More than 200 conference attendees, fire-service industry members and their families enjoyed live music, food, door prizes and a performance from the Toronto Fire Services Pipes and Drums.

An online auction for Ladders Up, which included 31 donated items from paintings to nozzles and helmets, contributed more than $15,000 to the charity. The total amount raised was presented to the CFFF's Bob Kirkpatrick at the OAFC gala on Wednesday night.

After five years running, the annual Ladders Up charity – thanks to significant donations from many companies and individuals in the fire service – has raised a total of more than $150,000 for the CFFF.
