Landlord fined $20,000 for fire code violations

Dec. 9, 2015, Calgary - A landlord who had been warned last year by Alberta Health Services that his rental property did not have proper sized basement windows for safe egress or interconnected fire alarms between the upstairs and basement suites to alert all tenants has been fined more than $20,000.
