Langley hires new fire chief

May 4, 2023, Langley, B.C. – The Township of Langley has hired Jason de Roy as its new fire chief.

de Roy comes to the Township of Langley from the North Vancouver City Fire Department, where he has served as deputy fire chief since 2021. de Roy has over 30 years of experience in fire service and served in additional roles as the assistant fire chief at both the North Vancouver City Fire Department and District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services.

He also has extensive experience in fire suppression, training, and human resource policy and procedures. de Roy and his family are residents of the Township of Langley, and he will assume his new role on May 15.

“I am very excited to be joining the Township of Langley Fire Department. The Township of Langley is where my family and I call home, and I am eager to get started working with the talented team and make a positive impact for our community,” de Roy said in a press release.
