Man charged with murder in fatal apartment fire

Hamilton police say firefighters were called to the blaze Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in downtown Hamilton.

They say a 65-year-old woman was found inside without vital signs.

Police say she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

That evening, Hamilton police say they arrested a 66-year-old man who lives in the same building.

Police haven’t released names of the deceased or the man in custody.
