Man dies in two-alarm house fire

May 27, 2011, Toronto – A man pulled from the basement unit of a burning house
in west-end Toronto has been pronounced dead at hospital.

Officials say the man had no vital signs when he was rushed to
hospital late this morning.

Crews put out the fire quickly at the home on Geoffrey Street
near Parkside Drive.
Police shut down Parkside between Grenadier Road and Westminster
Avenue as they investigated the blaze.
